Fenchurch Group CEO Olufemi Bakare Receives Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Distinguished Merit Award
Recognising leadership, national development and a commitment to service beyond the workplace.
When Society Takes Notice
Progress is often measured by the businesses we build, the milestones we achieve and the impact of our work. Yet some of the most meaningful forms of recognition extend beyond professional accomplishments, acknowledging contributions to society and the lives of others.
At Fenchurch Group, we are pleased to celebrate our Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olufemi Bakare, on receiving the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Distinguished Merit Award, accompanied by the distinguished title “Epitome of Hope.”
The award was presented by representatives of the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) during a visit to the Fenchurch Group office in Lagos, Nigeria.
The recognition acknowledges Mr. Bakare’s contributions to national development, educational upliftment, youth engagement and service to humanity.
Recognising Olufemi Bakare’s Contributions Beyond Business
As Group CEO of Fenchurch Group, Mr. Olufemi Bakare’s leadership is closely associated with the organisation’s commitment to developing infrastructure, fostering partnerships and creating opportunities for sustainable growth.
His recognition by NANNS highlights a broader dimension of leadership: the importance of contributing to society beyond the responsibilities of corporate management.
Through the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Distinguished Merit Award, the association acknowledged his contributions across areas that remain essential to Nigeria’s development, particularly education, youth engagement and service to humanity.
The accompanying title, “Epitome of Hope,” further reflects the association’s appreciation of these contributions and their significance to the communities they seek to serve.
Leadership, Service and National Development
At Fenchurch Group, we believe that meaningful progress extends beyond commercial achievements.
While infrastructure development, business growth and strategic partnerships remain central to our operations, the principles of responsible leadership, collaboration and positive societal impact are equally important.
Recognition such as the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Distinguished Merit Award reinforces the value of leadership that recognises the relationship between business and society.
It also draws attention to the importance of supporting initiatives and conversations that encourage educational advancement, youth participation and national development.
These are principles that resonate with Fenchurch Group’s broader commitment to creating lasting value through its people, businesses and partnerships.
Celebrating a Milestone of Recognition
The presentation of the award at Fenchurch Group’s Lagos office provided an opportunity to celebrate a significant personal and professional milestone for Mr. Bakare.
For the Group, the occasion serves as a reminder that the impact of leadership is not measured solely by organisational performance but also by the contributions individuals make to the wider society.
We extend our congratulations to Mr. Olufemi Bakare on receiving this distinguished recognition and express our appreciation to the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) for acknowledging his contributions.
As Fenchurch Group continues its journey of growth and infrastructure development, we remain committed to the values of excellence, purposeful leadership and service that contribute to meaningful progress.
